Move 4 Human Rights Summer Edition 2026

SHARE

The Move 4 Human Rights Summer Edition brings together young participants from diverse backgrounds to explore human rights in practice.

This summer, Human Security Collective, Justice & Peace Netherlands, Stichting Our Bodies Our Voice, and Human Rights in the Picture are organizing a two-week, hands-on program for (future) changemakers aged 18–30.

Through interactive workshops, field visits, and collaborative projects, this program creates a powerful space where theory meets practice. Participants will explore pressing human rights issues and contribute to developing meaningful responses.

Date: 6-17 July 2026

Location: The Hague, The Netherlands

Language: English

Fee: Free of cost

What will your two weeks look like?

  • Interactive sessions and discussions with human rights practitioners and activists
  • Visits to leading human rights organizations
  • Hands-on projects addressing real human rights challenges
  • Network building with a diverse community of changemakers

Why join?

The Move 4 Human Rights Summer Edition equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and connections to drive meaningful change. The program is part of the Dutch Maatschappelijke Diensttijd (MDT), a voluntary initiative that enables young people to engage in projects that contribute to society while developing their own talents and networks.

Upon completion, participants receive an MDT certificate recognising their learning, contribution, and engagement.

Spaces are limited, so interested applicants are encouraged to apply early to secure their spot. For questions, contact info@move4hr.nl

Next to the guidance of three major organisations: Justice & Peace Netherlands, Stichting Our Bodies Our Voice, and Human Security Collective, young people with a passion for human rights develop proposals not only to dream but also to create a more just world where 'other worlds are possible.

This was an incredibly valuable opportunity to both deepen my own knowledge of human rights, particularly on human security, social safety, migrant rights, and gender rights, and to connect with a cohort of inspiring people that have committed themselves and their careers to working on these issues.

The Summer Edition enabled me to connect with a diverse group of participants and speakers, increasing my knowledge and interest in Human Rights, particularly regarding NGOs in the Netherlands. I’ve learned useful methods like Participatory Action Research (PAR), active listening, and storytelling, which help promote Human Rights and make sure that those affected by violations can share their voices and experiences.
